As a kid this beautiful doe exhibited strength of bone, strength of general appearance and has incredible strength of breed character.  As a baby, she was up & down in the ring depending on how she was "growing" that day. But once she freshened as a yearling milker she 1st every time we took her out - except when she was beaten by herdmate Misha.

Today Ava is HUGE, strong boned, wide, level, correct and has a beautifully attached mammary system, with beautiful teats & teat placement.    Impressive mammary system for a young doe, and shows tremendous potential structurally & genetically.... Unfortunately Ava had a false pregnancy in 2008 and didn't freshen.  We had more problems in 2009 with a single dead kid born and a very difficult delivery.  She seems to be healthy & strong though once again after all of that, and we've regained hope that she'll be back in the showring once again in 2010. Although that didn't exactly happen, she did freshen with a single doe kid - AlisonWonderland!  Alison is every bit as beautiful as Ava was as a kid, and we can't wait until we see her freshen.

Ava apparently has "hormonal" issues, having difficulty getting bred & maintaining a "healthy" weight, but we feel she is extremely strong in genetic value and keep attempting to get more offspring.  She may never again see a show ring, but we plan to continue to work with her to prove her through her progeny....
