Talavera's dam is another yearling that we are just so pleased with, and yet again we couldnt' resist retaining this stylish daughter of hers! Talavera is growthy, very powerful kid. Even with her late birthdate, she will be bred to kid as a yearling milker.
Talavera freshened with only a single kid, and a beautifully shaped, productive mammary! It is socked on with a long, smooth fore and great teats and teat placment. In addition, Talavera is turning into quite the milker, peaking at 13.5 lbs a day and making the August 2024 ELITE Doe list in the 99th Percentile!
Talavera had to sit out the 2025 show season due to an error on my part in getting her dried off in time for a long enough dry period. Talavera had a stellar yearling lactation milking over 3100 lbs and I had such trouble getting her to stop milking...she would have just kept going (and I should have let her!). I've learned my lesson, and will work to get her dried sooner from now on! The mammary on Talavera is pretty incredible, with one of the best fore udders in the herd and we hope to have her back in the show ring in 2026.
