Shasta - looks just like the rest of the Sprite
girls.....large, long, level, wide, angular.....and sort of
well.......WHITE! Best Jr.
Doe in Show at the competitive Sonoma County Fair as a baby starting
things off right. She won her class as a yearling milker
at the 2005 ADGA National Show...easily (that was what the judge
said).....and then she was 2nd at Sonoma (hmm...behind her
littermate sister Evian)....and then she was first again at CA State
Fair that year. In 2006 she finished her GCH at the first show we
took her to. She stood 2nd at the 2006 National Show in Indiana
behind that sister of hers.
Shasta really is a beautiful, angular,
open & very dairy doe that milks very well. She is amazingly
deep bodied with tremendous spring of rib & depth & width of barrel.
Always consistent in her
appraisal scores, she's been EX92 (EEEE) both as a 3 and 4 year
old, and EX92 (VEEE) as a 5 year old her for permanent score. Shasta
progeny have done very well in other herds - with several earning GCH
legs as milkers, and her sons appraising Excellent as well as
producing Champion daughters.
She and her littermate sister Evian are the "evil twins" of
our herd - yep that's what we call them! They work together as a
team to be
the boss of the world they live in - and they are very successful at
persuading the other animals to do as they wish! Shasta is very
charming and engages everyone she meets in her effort to control the
world she lives in!
