Val came along with Kiona for the trip to
National Show in 2004 - and placed 9th in that very competitive 3 yr.
Old class. This doe excels
in general appearance - tall, correct, level, and very angular as well. She also has that high rear udder, outstanding teat placement and
strength of medial that the Miller daughters seem to consistently carry. She is out of the doe line that comes from Manges Colony - a
descendent of C/F Samantha’s Sable the beautiful doe that was 2nd
pl. 5 & over in 1995 at the National Show. Unfortunately in 2005 we
were unable to show her because of a mastitis issue, so she stayed home
on sabbatical and took it easy. We've always liked her and
believed in her, so when we finally got her problems cleared up we
couldn't wait to take her to the shows this year.
At her very
first show of the year she was GCH in all 3 rings and Best In Show in
one ring finishing her! Many other exhibitors told us how
beautiful she was this year. Two weeks later we headed to
Indiana. She took it all in stride, in fact, shared french fries
with one of our team members Trinity - but we did find that she will
ONLY eat them with ketchup! Okay, so our goats are spoiled
somewhat.....Trinity showed her to first place in the 5 & 6 year old
class, and then brought her back in for the Championship lineup. We were
really pleased to have her named Reserve National Champion....and then
just a little later in the evening when the judges saw her milked out
they named her Best Nubian Udder as well! A few weeks
later we attended our CA State Fair and she was named GCH Nubian and
2006 CA State Fair Supreme Champion against some incredible highly
competitive dairy goats! Of course, she got to celebrate with
French Fries, ketchup & many hugs from her friends.
In 2008 Val didn't get to go to Nationals,
but we took her very beautiful daughter Tainted Love with us.
Tainted Love (sired by Audacious) was 1st pl. Sr. Yearling & 2008
ADGA National Junior Champion Nubian! Tainted Love freshened in 2009
with an amazing udder, and iwas one of our strongest two year olds
appraising VG89 (VEVE).
