Temerity is an incredibly correct doe -
smooth blended, long boned, long bodied, has strength of bone,
correctness in her mammary system all the way around, beautiful teats,
strong breed character...and on and on.......and now she has a wonderful
ring presence as well now that she's had a few shows "under her
belt" so to say. She's comfortable with herself & with
us, and loves to go in the ring and parade....and win....Temerity has a
long, level lactation with very little "curve" to her
production levels - just steady as it goes.
Temerity was GCH at both the very
competitive Sonoma County Fair and the California State Fair (which
finished her Championship) in 2007, 2008, and 2009. In 2010
she was GCH CA State Fair & Total Performer and at Sonoma was Reserve
with Best Udder after apparently breaking her pastern just before
entering the ring (catching it in a gate). Walk her into the ring now,
and everyone is sure to notice her......she's 36 inches tall at the
withers already (no lack of stature here!), long in body in relation to
that height, long legs....big girl....like a model.....runway model that
is! She's maturing nicely gaining more width in her chest, depth
in the heart girth with increasing depth to her rear barrel.
In 2008 we took her to our local show in
Champion Challenge & she was Best of Breed in both rings. Her
next show out was the 2008 ADGA Nationals - she just hung out and
"chilled" in the barn in Kentucky. Not too many people
noticed her, that is, until she walked into the ring. Probably
because she's so very long legged & tall - she kinda towers over
lots of goats! One judge standing ringside commented that she
could be a "Rockette!".....cuz this girl really has LEGS! She won her 4 year old class and ended up being
named ADGA National Champion & Best Udder! We are so proud of
this Audacity daughter! This win makes Temerity a 4th generation
National Show Class Winner! Her dam Audacity was 1st pl. Sr.
Yearling & ADGA National Jr. Champion in 2003. Her granddam
Aubree was 1st pl. 4 yr old/1st udder & ADGA National Champion &
Best Udder in 2001 (and 2nd/1st udder Res CH & Best Udder in
2002). Her great granddam Finale was 1st pl. 3 yr.old/1st udder
& ADGA National Champion & Best Udder in 1999!
In 2009 Temerity came back into the ring & was 1st
place 5 & 6 year old, and named ADGA National Champion once again.
Additionally she won the 2009 ADGA National Nubian Total Performer Award
and the 2009 High Single Lactation Milk & Butterfat Awards as well.
At the Sonoma County Fair & CA State
Fairs immediately following the Nationals she also won her classes and
was named GCH Nubian, but also won the Best Udder Award each time.
Temerity is reflective of the consistency we work to
achieve in our dairy goats. Structurally sound & functionally
correct, she's appraised EX93 (EEEE) as both a 4 & 5 year old.
She's milked well, even in the high temperatures of Redding & long
travels we seem to attempt so often, receiving the single lactation
award for both milk & butterfat at Nationals for her breed, and she
comes from a line of does that have been able to reproduce
themselves.....as well....or better....than they are. Now.....we
just need to get ourselves a doe kid or two to hopefully continue the
generations!
After an injury to her foot in late 2010, Temerity
has been retired from the show string. But that hasn't slowed her
down! She's still as beautiful as ever...and freshened as a 7 year
old with a gorgeous set of AI triplets...and a mini clone of a doe kid
for ourselves! I am now very excited to see her kids this year by
Playboy!
